Our Maps Data Team is responsible for supporting Global Maps Maintenance and Operations. We are looking for a passionate Data Analyst to join our team and make a difference in the way we gather, observe, and translate our key data metrics into actionable decision support which improves our global operations and ultimately Maps users!
Key QualificationsDemonstrated ability processing training data using modern classification techniquesScripting and data-query analysis using Python or SQLExperience testing and developing processes and workflows which support scaled approaches in a big data environmentKnowledge of defining and improving work-flows to reduce latenciesDescriptionOur team is responsible for updating features that appear on Apple Maps. We do this by deriving and analyzing millions of rows of data daily which provide insights and recommendations for improvements across our Maps ecosystem including iOS, watchOS, macOS, CarPlay, etc.
On our team, some of your job duties will include but are not limited to:
- Reviewing sourced data and offer insight and feedback to engineering teams aimed at enhancing data models.
- Working with a distributed team of resources that support map data analysis, debugging, editing and optimization
- Developing reports and recommendations for enhancing existing workflows and creating new workflows for various products and features
- Suggesting process improvements based upon data trends and anomalies
- Defining requirements for tools, testing, implementation and adjustments for the purpose of scaled operations
- Developing diagnostics for elements of product health
Education & ExperienceBS or MS desired, however commiserate experience in related role or field will be considered.
Additional RequirementsWhile not vital, experience with the following would be helpful in this role:
- Geospatial and/or operations data analysis- Image data analysisPay & BenefitsAt Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $107,500.00 and $223,500.00, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
