200546800Apple is looking for an elite display engineer to own the design, development and qualification activities of the next generation display technology and products. This individual will serve as a focal point in leading new display technology development and drive the implementation of critical technology platforms to improve display performance, from design conception to hardware and experience prototyping, and to final products. You will involve in system modeling to assist in the design and validation. You will work with a diverse and multi-disciplinary group of highly hardworking colleagues. We need a directly responsible individual to collaborate with multi-functional teams and suppliers to understand design tolerance and sensitivities, optimize system level performance base on critical metrics, and validate system designs through engineering builds and design of experiments.
A successful candidate needs to be comfortable with new technology, a flexible problem solver, have meticulous attention to detail, be highly independent, and motivated to drive results. You should be able to tackle problems outside of your respective technical area, have strong presentation and communication skills, and can thrive in a highly multifaceted, agile, multi-disciplinary and hands-on environment that values engineering excellence and innovation. You will be part of something big, come join us!Key QualificationsProven track record in product development or new technology bring upBuilt compelling prototypes that demonstrate the new technologiesDeep understanding of various display technologies, (i.e. LCD, OLED, uLED, projectors, etc.), optics fundamentals, and experience in prototyping and developing new display technologiesExperienced with optical modeling and a high-level programming languageStrong presentation and communication skillsStrong analytical, critical thinking and problem-solving skillsIndependent and highly motivated to drive resultsExperience in optical module and display system integration a plusDescription Investigate new display technologies, perform detail tradeoff studies, and generate new approaches to further improve display performance
Define overall optical and module architecture and requirements, and drive rigorous validation plan to meet display performance target
Develop numerical models and hardware prototype to demonstrate proposed solution or experience
Identify critical metrics impacting display performance, analyze experimental and build data, present analysis summary to management
Drive issue failure analysis and corrective action, communicate with broader team on pros, cons and risks associated with any proposed solution
Collaborate with system team to understand system level requirement and drive module spec convergence and any necessary hardware prototype or demoEducation & ExperienceBS in Optics, Physics, EE, ME and a minimum 10 years of experience.Pay & BenefitsAt Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $170,700.00 and $300,200.00, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
